Description
Looking for Qualified applicants to full fill the role as a Quality Control Inspector (QC) for work up on the North slope, Mainly Structural Steel Welding and High Strength Bolting. Some small bore piping work. Successful applicants would be working to support the overall mission of the Contractor as a team member assuring all owner specified quality control activities are carried out in a timely fashion, and to the contractor’s and owners’ satisfaction.
Duties include but are not limited to, Visual in process welding inspections including review and comment on welding procedures welder performance qualifications and Material Test Reports. Verifying welding being performed is being performed in accordance with approved submitted welding procedures, including verifying all essential variables such as pre-heat, amps, volts, travel speed, joules, etc. Verify that only qualified welders are welding within the limits specified on their approved welder qualification certifications. Verifying materials such as steel used, and filler material used. Verifying joint fit-up is with in tolerance of those dimensions specified on the welding procedure, Perform Visual Inspections on completed welds. Inspections will be performed in accordance with AWS D1.1. and/or ASME B 31.3 codes. They must also be experienced with reading plans and specifications for pertinent information pertaining to the inspections to be performed.
Key attributes of the successful candidate are that they shall have good communication skills including the ability to write clear and to the point concise reports., be able to take direction and follow instruction. Be a Team player, be able to work away from home up to 6 weeks at a time, and possess a good attitude, be responsible and dependable and be detail oriented
Successful candidate shall have to pass a non-DOT drug test, be able to carry 50 lbs. or more and use ladders, and be able to work in in-climate conditions.
Successful candidate must posses the ability to work with Microsoft word and excel.
Must be able to put in shifts of up to 12 hours a day 7 days a week, some days may require a few more hours.

Wage rates are from 750.00 to 850.00 dollars a day based on previous experience.

Current AWS CWI
Proficient with both MS Word and MS Excel
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE with performing inspections in accordance with AWS D1.1 and ASME codes 1yr or more
Must be able to work in a remote setting for up to 12 hours a day, some days up to 16 hrs/day with length of stay durations up to 6 weeks in in-climate conditions.

Able to lift 50lbs, move ,set up and climb ladders effectively
