RADCO, a Twining Company, is seeking a qualified individual to perform Quality System Process Audits at auto mobility equipment dealers throughout the contiguous US and Hawaii, plus some locations in Canada and Puerto Rico.

Auto mobility equipment dealers sell and service wheelchair accessible vans. This includes completed vehicles, vehicle modifications, wheelchair ramps, wheelchair and scooter lifts, and various controls and equipment that allow people with disabilities to drive or ride in motor vehicles. These dealers are members of a non-profit Trade association called the National Mobility Equipment Dealer’s Association (

NMEDA is dedicated to helping people with disabilities regain their independence and freedom through the ability to drive, or to be transported safely. NMEDA has the only nationally recognized Quality Assurance Program (QAP), and all dealers must comply with this program. It is the role of the Auditor to audit the dealer’s compliance with the QAP program rules and guidelines.

This Auditor position is a supporting position on RADCO’s NMEDA team and will report to the Primary Auditor. This position may also support other NMEDA programs as well as audit programs not associated with NMEDA.

The ideal candidate will have a background in Process Auditing such as ISO 9001 or TS 16949, be familiar with automotive equipment, have a desire to learn about auto mobility equipment, have some awareness of, or be willing to learn, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), possess excellent interpersonal, computer, and analytical skills, and is friendly, outgoing, and able to offer excellent customer service to the RADCO team and the NMEDA clients.

Candidates must be willing to travel approximately 30%.  Due to the coronavirus, all NMEDA audits are currently being performed remotely. Travel/in-person audits will restart when it is deemed safe to do so.

Job Duties:

  • Performs process-based, in-person and/or remote audits at auto mobility equipment dealerships;
  • Verifies dealer facilities are compliant with some requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
  • Ensures compliance with quality program requirements and Federal Motor Vehicle;
  • Safety Standards (FMVSS) by interviewing employees and examining records, operating practices, and documentation;
  • Verifies technicians performing installations hold proper training certificates;
  • Verifies dealer has current insurance certificate;
  • Verifies tools used for equipment installations are calibrated;
  • Verifies dealer retains proper customer documentation;
  • Completes audit report by documenting observations and audit findings;
  • Communicates audit findings to the dealer;
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending equipment manufacturer service schools, reviewing professional publications and becoming a certified auditor;
  • Utilizes computer programs on tablet/pc to complete audit process and associated documents;
  • Ability to perform remote video audits and meetings by Microsoft Teams, Zoom;
  • Travel by vehicle/air to approximately 100 dealer locations per year, once it is safe to do so.


Qualifications and Preferences:

  • AS or equivalent education/experience in engineering, automotive or technical field;
  • Automotive technician experience is a plus;
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) is a plus;
  • Knowledge of auto mobility equipment is a plus;
  • Lean manufacturing experience is a plus;
  • Prior experience in quality systems auditing, ASQ Certified Auditor is a plus;
  • 1-2 years working with quality control, inspection, or quality assurance role preferred;
  • English speaking required, Bilingual in French or Spanish is a plus;
  • Proficient using computer and MS Office applications;
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport required;
  • Ability to travel internationally (Canada and Puerto Rico).

The primary office for this position is located in Tampa, Florida, however, candidates may be able to work remotely from home depending on their qualifications and geographic location within the United States.
